Tyler Steppe
Tyler Steppe began his journey into martial arts in 2006. He had always been a casual fan of mixed martial arts, but always focused more on traditional sports like football and soccer. After his football career ended he still felt the need to be active and compete. It was his roommate that introduced him to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a competitive sport.
Tyler trained often during college and began to search for a career in martial arts. Tyler received his B.S. in Education with interest in Sport Management from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2008.
After graduating from college Tyler moved to Memphis and worked for various health clubs before joining the Memphis Judo and Jiu Jitsu staff in 2010.
Tyler currently teaches classes in Jiu Jitsu and Fitness Kickboxing. Tyler’s philosophy is that fitness is a key component to living a happy lifestyle.
Aside from teaching, Tyler is also a regulator for the Tennessee Athletic Commission. He has been onsite for many boxing and mixed martial arts events including ESPN Friday Night Fights, UFC, and Strikeforce MMA.
