Tyler “Guida” Steppe began training with us in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Wrestling in September 2006. Since the moment he arrived at the school he has been one of the most dedicated and competitively active students at the school. Since competing Tyler has racked up 27 wins in competitions across the US such as NAGA (Ft. Worth, TX), Extreme Grappling Open (Nashville, TN), NAGA Worlds (Columbus, OH), LA State BJJ Championships (Ponchatoula, LA), IBJJF Pan-American Championships (Irvine, CA) plus many more.

Tyler earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Management from UT Knoxville and since then has been dedicated to learning more about not just BJJ but also performance enhancement and nutrition. Currently Tyler can be found working the front desk at the school during the weekdays while on most weekends Tyler travels the state while performing his duties as an inspector for the Tennessee State Athletic Commission.
